Suspension

Taking inspiration from a hanging installation artwork by Mire Lee in the Turbine Hall of Tate Modern, and that of artists, Francis Bacon, Mark and Chaïm Soutune, Mark has created an abstract painting in an expressionist style of an anatomical structure in visceral impasto paint.

Although interpretation of the painting is for the viewer to determine. There are similarities with the work of Soutune in his carcass series of paintings.

Oil on canvas - 23” x 18”

The painting is signed on the front and stamped on the rear of the canvas with the artist’s stamp.
