In the 50s and 60s it was common to feature on an album cover an attractive woman often in an exotic setting to sell, what was invariably, a mediocre easy listening album. This painting captures a magnificent example of ‘cheesecake’, with an attractive brunette lady provocatively sitting in a huge glass of liquor, atop a seat of ice.

Research suggests that the model on the cover is either Mary Tyler-Moore, who featured on many album covers of the time, or more likely Sandy Warner, who was known as The Exotica Girl after appearing on Martin Denny's seminal album, Exotica.

In this painting, Mark is celebrating the unique and slightly risqué era of when album covers offered more on the outside than the recording on the vinyl inside. The use of special photography techniques gave these album covers a unique light and colour which Mark has tried to convey in his painting.

Hand painted in acrylic on canvas and wrapped around board to create a 3 dimensional replica of the album cover, complete with a just visible paper inner sleeve.

Mark only paints an album once, so this painting is unique and will not be painted again. However, if you would like something in a similar style, Mark is willing to suggest a number of alternative covers that he would be happy to paint.

The work is signed and stamped with the artist’s stamp, and provided with a certificate of authenticity as the original piece of art.

It is float mounted and framed in a high quality white bespoke made box frame, and delivered ready for hanging.
